About Sydney Coastrek
The Wild Women On Top Sydney Coastrek is a 50 - 100 kilometre
team trek on Friday 1st to Saturday 2nd March
2013 along the stunning Sydney Coastline, including ocean
and harbour beaches, headlands, cliff tops and bush tracks from
Palm Beach to Coogee.
It is an endurance challenge, to promote health and fitness as
well as team work, mental and emotional tuffness and fun! In
addition to this, the event will raise money for the great work of
The Fred Hollows Foundation.
Wild Women On Top Sydney Coastrek is open to both men and women,
however each team must have at least 50% women! You can choose to
walk 50 OR 100kms, as long as you are a team of 4!
There are three exciting events to choose
from:
- 50km Day Event: Palm Beach to Balmoral. This event has two
start times, 6.30am and 7am. Your team will be allocated a
start wave and are required to register one hour before the start
at Palm Beach. You have up to 9 hours to get to the 25km mark at
Long Reef, and 18 hours to complete the 50km to Balmoral.
- 50km Night Event: Balmoral to Coogee. This event has
one start time, 6pm at Balmoral. Your team will be required to
register on event day, one hour before the start, at Balmoral. You
will have up to 9 hours to get to the manned checkpoint at Rose Bay
and 18 hours to complete the 50km to Coogee.
- 100km Event: Palm Beach to Coogee. This event has one
start time, 6am at Palm Beach. The 100k is the Premier event of the
Sydney Coastrek and you will be required to register one hour
before the start, at Palm Beach. You will have up to 9 hours to get
to the 25km mark at Long Reef, 18 hours to get to the 50km mark at
Balmoral, 27 hours to get to the 75km mark at Rose Bay and 36 hours
to get to Coogee.
Sydney Coastrek is in its infancy having started in 2010 -
raising $200,000 for The Fred Hollows Foundation.
In 2011 Sydney Coastrek raised nearly $600,000 for The Fred
Hollows Foundation.
In 2012 Sydney Coastrek is looking to raise $1,000,000 for The
Foundation, while we make sure that each and everyone of you, our
1200 trekkers, has an awesome and fabulous Coastrek experience.
