What our trekkers have to say...

  • Adam Spencer

"TEAM!!! Don't know about you, but I woke up this morning after 2 beers and the best bath EVER - feeling like I could do it all again!!! Great effort guys and The Fred Hollows Foundation smashed the half million.

Over 20,000 eyesights will be restored. Puts our pain in perspective."

  • Vanessa Bond

"The Dawn Raiders had a ball on the 100km walk ... we laughed, lapped up the amazing scenery, shared strapping and blister packs, pumped each other up and mustered enough energy to run across the finish line. What a fantastic event!!! We'll be there again next year."

  • Julie McCrossin

"Why do I love Coastrek? The challenge, friendship and breathtaking beauty of the Sydney coastline, combine with fundraising for Fred Hollows that helps the blind to see. The combination is pure joy...once you cross the finish line!"

  • Jacinta Tucker

"As I was walking past the park near the gap and the wind was howling, I thought about the blind in 3rd world countries, and what they endure - and there was nothing that was going to stop me! It really is amazing that Coastrek has raised over $500,000 for the Fred Hollows Foundation!!! Well done."

  • Graham Creed

"What a fabulous day and so emotional to be a part of Cassie achieving such a huge goal. We were just over Spit Bridge when I heard on the radio that the $500,000 target was reached and we all knew the next steps were going to be so much easier knowing what we were doing it for. Congratulations and well done."

  • Erica Beaton

"Coastrek training is such a good way to start the year and get going again after a holiday break....so glad I booked it in! You did a wonderful job leading the group, managing the different walking paces and expectations while keeping everyone working together and sharing the experience. Several people commented on how useful all your tips were and empowering people to take turns with navigating worked really well."

  • Megan James

"Thank you Wild Women on Top for inspiring us to finish Coastrek's 50km event. It was so well organised and your support and constant information pre the event were excellent. The event was the pinnacle but we had the most fantastic time getting there. We trained, bonded and learnt so much as a team and then celebrated a most wonderful achievement together. We are all in awe of the women that did 100kms."

"It was a magical day. We had so much fun. The trek training, preparation, organisation, team notes, maps, info evening, back up, St John presence, etc etc was extremely professional, so positive and so supportive and made the "walking" just so easy and thoroughly enjoyable for us all. Congratulations for realising a dream and making it possible for so many people to be a part of that and make a difference in other's lives whilst having fun & keeping fit. It was a privilege to be a part of Coastrek. Thank you again. What a magnificent city we live in and what a wonderful way to see it along the way!"

  • Anne Wajon

We had a ball.  Loved the fact that we walked over the bridge, through the rocks and past Circular Quay - while all the beautiful people where out for a night on the town.  The fact that we could look across the Harbour at where we were going and then a few hours later, back to where we had come from was so inspiring.  Other highlights:  the amazing bush track that led to Strickland House, finding the suspension bridge at Parsley Bay, and coming up to the Gap  in the middle of the night.  Just magic. Of course, the long walk down to Bondi was a challenge, but meeting Gabby Hollows at 4am and having her encourage us to keep going somehow did the trick, and before you knew it, we were racing along Coogee beach as the sun started to come up.  I will definitely do the night walk again.
