Event day

So....what happens on the actual day?

OK - the day has arrived! Here is the most important information you need to get you to the start on time, so you can start walking the stunning Sydney Coastrek!

Please remember - ALL EVENTS start on FRIDAY 1st MARCH 2013

Start
The start of Coastrek is always SUPER exciting.

You will need the following when you register on event day:

  • Your Team Name, Bib Number and Start Wave
  • A Risk Waiver signed by all 4 of your team members
  • Compulsory gear: head torches, fluro vests, basic first aid, water & food, mobile phones
  1. Register 1 hour before your start wave. All 4 Team Members MUST present to the registration desk. You cannot change events or start waves.
  2. 100km teams start at 6am on Friday 1st March, so register at 5am
  3. 50km Day teams start at 6.30 or 7am on Friday 2nd March, so register one hour before.
  4. 50km Night teams start at 6pm at Balmoral on Friday 1st March, so register at 5.00pm
  5. At Registration, hand in your signed Risk Waiver/Medical Form (download here). Only one Risk Waiver per team is needed. You will then receive your bibs, event day map book, Event Day Info Sheet and team timing stick. Proceed to the start line 15 mins before your start. If for any reason you have to report a last minute team change, please ensure you do so at the Team Change Desk prior to registration.
  6. You must download and print maps for your support team prior to the event.
  7. You must punch the the Timing Stick at all the allocated CP's along the way, and finish as a team of 4 to be eligible for a category place. There are manned CP's at 25km, 50km, 75km and 100km marks. All 4 team members must cross over the finish and have all CP records on their stick to be eliigible for a category place. Bibs MUST be worn on your front. If you lose your Timing Stick or forget to hand it in, you will be liable for a $100 fee to replace the lost stick. you MUST hand in your Timing Stick at the finish to get a finish time.
  8. The route is NOT marked. Use your maps and track notes. Checkpoints are marked with orange/white flags with a blue CP Control station to punch your Timing Stick in to. There are 11 checkpoints in the first 50km, 11 in the second 50km, therefore 22 in total for the 100km teams.
  9. If a team member withdraws, you must advise HQ.
  10. Read the Coastrek Rules and Guidelines!!!
