Training Walk #4 20kms and sand training Spit-Manly-Curl Curl

Another stunning walk from The Spit to Manly then Curl Curl Beach and back to Manly. The aim - 20km!  After a blustery wintery start, the cocooned coastline of Middle Harbour warmed us up and delighted us with stunning natives, including my favourite flannel flowers, and supurb Sydeny vistas.

A coffee detour at the 10km mark was most welcome at Manly.  Refreshed and stretched we were able to get up and over the hill to Freshwater and North Curl Curl.  We looked somehat out of place on the beach segments wearing hiking gear - but sand training is required. Boy, did we know wheere our legs were at the end!.  A hot bath and early night combo proved to be very restorative and we have more confidence of going for 30km! Stay tuned.

Training Walk #2 - Circular Quay to Watsons Bay

Sydney at it's finest - Cirular Quay to Watsons Bay (almost).  It was fabulous to have Kate Slee up from the border to join us on this training walk. Starting at Circular Quay, we jostled with the tourists navigating around the Botanic Gardens to Wolloomooloo. Waved at Jen M's former abode and hit the inner city through Potts Point and Rushcutters Bay along cute laneways and some stunning heriatge homes.  Resisted intense urge for coffee until Rose Bay where we took a quick break and had a good stretch.  Pepped each other up for next leg into Sydney National Park.  Sensational harbour views and a lot of chatting slowed us down (all in the name of team bonding).  Ran out of energy at Nielsen Park after 12.5km and 4 hours. Ubered the last strtech to Watsons Bay for a well desrved bucket of prawns and jug of Pimms at the iconic Watsons Bay Hotel.    Missed Georgie and Kate B; hoping they'll make the next walk.
