My Updates

We did it

Monday 24th May
Thank-you to all who supported and sponsored us over our weeks of training and trials and tribulations.  The training paid off and the goal was reached. We stormed home to beat nightfall and really looked the team with our Reflecto vests.  The day has raised $2.9million so far and this will go a long way to supporting the Beyond Blue 24/7 Support Service.  Thanks again everyone it has been an adventure.

One week to go....

Sunday 16th May
So it was a shorter one today - 10km? no 15km? no made it 21km!  A fun walk around the coast from Port melbourne under the westgate, a punt across the Yarra for prosecco at an Italian cafe in Willie. Then return in reverse.  A cold day but interesting views of the Yarra and the Westgate bridge from below.

8 May a Capital City Day

Sunday 16th May
Today we left at sparrow's and walked the capitol city trail from Northcote to the Zoo, Docklands, along the Yarra to Richmond (a breakfast break) and back to Northcote.  Great to meet up with a couple of supporters in Richmond and share a latte.

Two days in a row

Thursday 6th May
Yesterday and today i cycled from Box Hill to the Zoo and back.  First day I got lost 3 times on the way there and once on the way home.  Today I managed it with no diversions. Tiring but managed to do it so my legs must be getting stronger.....

Saturday a big day

Sunday 2nd May
Well left home very early, in the dark,  Who would have thought one could get to Kew for Studley Park - Park Run from Box Hill by foot!  Then joined the team and off we went to Heide.  Well Team I think we can do it!!
And if you want to donate to Beyond Blue click her and boost our team ( a big thank-you to our supporters so far):

Tassie adventure - training by night

Sunday 2nd May
Wrest point literally glowed......

Trek by night - unplanned

Sunday 2nd May
A work trip to Tassie gave the opportunity for a new place to run (ok a very slow jog followed by tortuous crawl up the hill).  I didn't quite know where I was going but I found the bush and entered - after sunset.  A few slow steps, as I could hardly see the track, and the paddy melons surprised me as they scurried past. I soon baled and headed for the safety of the road.  Wrest Point glowed in the dark.  I eventually made it home a few hours later, tired but happy to have a hot shower and enjoy my Japanese takeaway.

Training continues - must stay focussed

Monday 26th Apr
On Saturday Kerryn and I walked 21km from Elwood almost to Black Rock and back.  Only one coffee along the way - thanks I! Been stiff for 2 days but will have to get back into it tomorrow or lose those hard won gains.  Trying to keep focussed!

Should have taken the train home!

Tuesday 20th Apr
A beautiful ride in today but the heavens opened up from Camberwell to Box Hill!!  But a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do to be ready to TREK.  Nothing a hot shower, good dinner and a bit of chocolate didn't fix.

Staying focussed

Monday 19th Apr
With troubles everywhere, it is time to stay focussed.  My knee is a little sore but am sure tape and rest will fix it. Staying sane and supported is important for all of us so if you can spare a dollar or two I would love you to donate to our team as we push ourselves beyond normal limits over the next few weeks.  Stay tuned.  And thank-you so much to my supporters to date.

Thank you to my Sponsors
