We did it!!
So proud of the team!! We were anticipating bad weather with high winds and rain, but it turned out to be beautiful. Thank you to everyone who supported us and cheered us on before, during and after. We raised over $3000 which was a great effort.
Special thanks to Caro's sister Melanie who was our team physio!!

With our Support Crew!
We have 2 weeks until race day and we're ready to go!!
We had our last big training day together with our support crew of friends, partners and dogs. Lily the 10 week old Chihuahua puppy came the whole journey in a blankie..
Thank you all for your amazing support. The Coastrek teams have already raised over one million dollars for the Fred Hollows Foundation so they can restore sight to those who don't have access to affordable and quality eye health.

Wind and Rain but we're still all smiles!!
With only 4 weeks to go, we continue to train to make sure we're up for the 30kms challenge!!
It was wild and woolly this morning but with the support of Dave and the dogs, we got it done. 10kms and 3 sets of the dreaded stairs..
Hopefully Bron is feeling better and Bree is back from holidays so we should get another big 20kms walk in before the big day.
Getting some serious distance in means leaving the dogs at home
Today we walked 20.05kms (hey every extra metre counts!!), 26,000 steps and climbed the equivalent of 21 flights of stairs. We were pretty happy with our efforts and that justified egg and bacon rolls. We had 4 1/2 hours to analyse calories in vs calories burned!!
Rain, hail or shine, we're out there doing it for Fred!!
Today we headed to Ricketts Point and back - 17kms and 24,000 steps.
Mascots join team training day!
Five staff and four dogs getting active today! Early start and perfect weather for 10kms and stairs workout. Super impressed by the dedication! Go Team!!
Team training kicks off!
Bron and I kicked the team training off today with some stairs. It was a magic day to do the 10kms Brighton to Half Moon Bay and back.
Thank you for all your generous support for the Fred Hollows Foundation. Your donations will help support programs to train and empower local eye doctors, nurses and health workers to create a sustainable system of care and make sure everyone has access to high quality, affordable eye health.
This is my second year participating in Coastrek. Last year I wrote a blog about my experience.

Hopefully we will be lucky enough to get a day like in this photo. Glorious views, a beautfiul day and crossing the finish line to a glass of champagne!
