Did you know that three million people in Australia are living with anxiety and depression?

Every donation helps and makes a significant impact to mental health and wellbeing in Australia, so thank you for your generosity and let's add some glitter to that ubiquitous black dog, shall we?

Our reason to walk

We all have our reasons to participate in this Coastrek 30k walk in May. There’s the incentive to be active and push ourselves further than we would ordinarily do in this age of hyperactive screen-touching digits and inactive screen-basking bodies. There’s also the chance to spend a day in nature with a group of exceptional friends, walking and catching up IRLFR (IN REAL LIFE FOR REALS), which is as rare an opportunity as bathing in a pool of lotus petals whilst watching snow monkeys in red velvet suits perform sad Nick Cave covers on the oud.

The biggest reason for us all would have to be to bring further awareness around the topic of mental health and contribute to financially to an organisation that offers support for those suffering from trauma, anxiety, depression; a visit from the black dog, that internal dialogue that won’t be quiet, the fear that won’t be comforted, the cloud that weights a ton.

Over the next few months, one by one, we will all share our own reasons for walking. They are just the things we have experienced in our worlds, that make it important to us, but everyone has experienced the effects of mental illness at some time in their lives, whether it’s up close or through someone we love. If you’d like to contribute to ongoing awareness and support, please consider donating to our campaign. We are walking for all of us!

Thank you to our Sponsors
