Kate takes on the Adelaide Coastrek!

On Friday 20 September, I'll be taking part in Adelaide Coastrek, the ultimate team trekking and fundraising challenge, proudly supporting Beyond Blue.

I really want to participate in this walk and fundraising for a couple of reasons. Firstly, after my cancer treatments and consequent weight gain, physical fitness has been very challenging due to muscle weakness, fatigue and mental health concerns. One way that helps me is measured physical exercise.

Secondly, doing something with a team helps me to stay focused, we also support each other to reach this goal by regularly commuicating and sharing our solo training walks plus we organise team training walks.

Thirdly, mental health issues in its many forms has touched the life of people close to me and myself. One of the things that helped me at the very beginning was the information book put out by Beyond Blue, it opened up a whole new level of understanding around the disease and its many complications.

We have a couple of fundraising ideas that we need to start organising watch this space!

However, if you would like to support me through this donation site I would be thrilled to have your support and thankyou for your generosity.

My Story

Fundraising at Mekko Market

Hi Everyone

After a mad scramble, I arrived at Mekko Market at 10am today to set up my second hand clothing rack. You rent the rack and place your items of clothing on it with prices. If you're down Prospect way drop in and have a look they have a great cafe in the front part.

I've put a sign on the top of the rack letting people know the money goes to Beyond Blue.
