This pass weekend I was on a mission and hit 20km. And surprisingly I did it! There were ups and downs literally and figuratively but nothing That made me want to stop. Walking 10k one way before turning around to do another 10k walking. Half way back to the car it started to become a little painful but not my legs but my lower back which I thought was rather weird. But pulled through and made it to the end all 20ks of it. I was prepared for the pain the following day but to my surprise it was no where near as bad as I thought it would be I just couldn't bend over to pick anything up. No harm in visiting the osteo to make sure and help with making this trek easier on the body!
Heat exhaustion sux!
Definitely wear a hat! I made it to the 12 km mark before I had to call in help. I started to get dizzy. I had a voost/berrocca it seemed to have helped a bit but I still felt a little off. Drinking HEAPS of water to help balance the fluids lost through sweat. I was drinking what felt like that much I was a water balloon 😅.
How’s ya legs?
Omg this is the third week of training for the 30km coastal walk. We started off small with 4.5km walk first weekend. The second weekend it was almost 6km the third weekend we had doubled the km from our first weekend and walked 9km! Completing this in 90 minutes which I thought was great! It sounds so long and it will take longer than what it took but nope. We did stop a few times for a water break ensuring ya didn't choke on it while walking. But we never stopped for too long it felt great and kept going. Bring on the next walk!!
