Reached my fundraising goal
From zero to 12kms in a week!
The reason why we are called last minute Mums is because we only decided to do the Coastrek last week. It all started with a Sunday morning 7.30am walk down the beach and surrounding areas. 5kms in one hour, the trek would be six times this. Our estimated 7 hrs to do the trek. How ambitious...
Another 5km trek on Thursday followed by 7km Friday. It got easier and easier and I felt on top of the world with all the excercise.
We then decided to do the Mt Eliza run and fun festival on Sunday. A friend of my daughters uncle at aged 40 was diagnosed with myeloma- cancer of blood cells. He is now 43 with two kids at our school. To see the community get together to raise money for this foundation was astounding...I was deeply touched. We are so happy to have moved to Mt Eliza and see this community spirit. My husband and kids joined in on the 4km trek, after doing 8km separately with a friend before the official start of the race.
This coastal trek has provided me with such a worthy goal, I’m so determined and it is so fulfilling to feel this way. At the end of the week I had done 12kms in one trek and feel satisfied...one thing I have learnt is that you must make time to set goals and stretch your limits.
