Less Than Two Weeks To Go
Its getting very close now. We are just all finalising what we need to have with us to be comfortable on the big day on the 20th of September. Once we got past the 22km training walk life has settled down to a normal pace as we recover and continue to prepare with some lighter training walks.
Thank you again to all of our sponsors for The Die Hards team. We could not have challenged ourselves mentally and physically without your support. And it is a challenge. But like many who suffer with mental health issues and face this challenge everyday its a very worthy cause that we are walking for.
We will continue you to keep you updated as the day approaches.
20km Training Walk Tomorrow
Its funny how the little things help. I woke this morning, went to the gym for the 5th time this week and then thought oh wow I have 20km to get through tomorrow morning, that will be tough. Sat down at my computer to two donations this morning for our team. It helped me with my mental prepartions for tomorrow morning. Our efforts are worth it after all. We are making a difference for Beyond Blue by helping raise these funds and our pain along the way is helping people take notice of this great cause. It will be cold and probably still be dark when we head off at 7am tomorrow morning, but hopefully no rain! So while you are snug in bed you can enjoy that feeling a bit more while you think of us out there in the cold, hopefully making a bit more of a difference for people who need this Beyond Blue help.
17km training walk done and our $2000 fundraising goal complete
Here we are at week 5 of our 12 week training for our Crossfit walk and we are ticking off some of our goals and feeling good about our achievements.
We can't thank our family and friends enough for their support of our challenge that we are attacking as a small group of close friends in the support of Beyond Blue. Without their donations it would not be possible. It is appreciated.
Our fundraising goal will be increased slightly only so that anyone who stills wants to contribute to this great cause can feel that it is still warmly appreciated. Now we have reached the $2000 mark we have reached the Coastrek requirement to allow us to walk the 30km.
We feel better individually and as a group making this committment and working towards its completion. Hopefully our funds raised will help others in need of support in their lives through Beyond Blue.
I will try to keep you updated on our journey as we continue....
The Beginning for the team The Die Hards
Well we are all excited.
The team is coming together online now. Irish Linda, Australian Linda, Sophia and Ange.
I guess this is the easy part. Set up the team, pay our registration money and invite our friends and family to support us with donations so we can participate!
In our mind I guess we are all thinking "hey we are sort of fit" "how hard can a 30km walk be"
Probably not that easy so I will keep you posted on our facebook updates as we progress through our 12 week fitness training and all the organising that will come with getting this trek to come together.
Hope you enjoy our journey
Cheers for now.
Thank you to my Sponsors
