Hey Canberra Coastrekkers,

As you know large scale events are simply not happening right now. We have been holding out hope we could still run Canberra Coastrek this year, but 2020 has made other plans and we just can't make it happen safely for you.

So… what next?

Canberra Coastrek was all about connection - to our health, our city and to nature, but also to our loved ones and our wider community. And we remain passionate about providing you with an experience that brings people together for this cause.  To do this, we are offering all Canberra Coastrekkers two options:

1) You and a buddy can join us for the brand new, COVID-safe challenge, the Stayin' Wild Challenge this September, October or November.

2) Gift your Canberra Coastrek registration fee directly to Beyond Blue, to support those affected by anxiety, depression or suicide.

Instructions on how to do this have been emailed to all registered Canberra Coastrek participants.

If you have any questions that are not answered below, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR STAYIN’ WILD?

If you would like to join us for the Stayin' Wild Challenge, please make your selection here. You will then receive a promo code via email, which will give you AND a friend free entry to the challenge. Stayin' Wild is a 28-day challenge which starts on the first Monday of each month.

Registrations are open for September, October and November challenges, and you may redeem your promo code against your preferred month. Next Stayin' Wild challenge starts Monday 7 September!

For more info on this awesome new challenge, go to https://www.stayinwild.com/

The Stayin’ Wild Challenge also has a non-compulsory fundraising component, so you can continue to make a difference by supporting Beyond Blue and mental health in Australia if you wish.

CAN I HAVE A CREDIT FOR 2021?

Given the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak and social distancing restrictions, we are still unsure when we will have the opportunity to run Canberra Coastrek next year. As such, we have introduced the Stayin’ Wild program as an alternative to keep us motivated and supported during this time.

As soon as we have more certainty around 2021 events, we will let you know!

WHERE DOES MY FUNDRAISING GO?

All funds raised through Coastrek go directly to Beyond Blue, to fund Beyond Blue’s 24/7 Support Service, which provides free, one-on-one support and information from a trained mental health professional.

IF I JOIN THE STAYIN’ WILD CHALLENGE, WILL MY FUNDRAISING TOTAL ROLLOVER?

Unfortunately, not. Your fundraising went directly to Beyond Blue at the time of donation - where funds are needed now more than ever before.

WHY CAN’T I GET A REFUND?

As per our T&C's our registration fees are non-refundable, as many of the costs and fees are preparatory and have already been incurred from before you register to prior to the event actually commencing.

All trekkers can choose to join us for the Stayin Wild Challenge or gift their registration fee directly to Beyond Blue.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T MAKE A SELECTION?

If you do not indicate your preference to join us for the Stayin' Wild Challenge or gift your registration fee to Beyond Blue by Friday 4 September 2020, we will assume you would like to generously gift your registration fee to Beyond Blue.

WHERE DOES OUR REGISTRATION FEE GO?

Registration fees for Coastrek go to Wild Women On Top to help cover the costs of your Coastrek journey, including training programs and support e-books, volunteer recruitment, stakeholder engagement, customer service, social media management and more, to ensure you have an awesome experience from registration through until event day.

Organising a large scale event like Coastrek is complex, and each event involves many contractors and stakeholders to run.

There are many costs that are incurred prior to the event including; fees and applications to local councils and national parks, event insurance (which sadly does not cover pandemics), event logistics partners, staff, website and fundraising platforms, graphic design, route development and maps, bibs and timing, event infrastructure and management, signage, traffic management planning + more.
