With 4 Coastrek’s under her belt, Kate is already an inspiring trekker. However, after sharing her story with us, Kate and her team became our 'Most Inspiring Team' for Brisbane Coastrek 2018.
When Kate was diagnosed with brain cancer, she was told she only had a few years to live. At the time of the diagnosis, her son was just two-years-old. Against the odds, Kate recovered and completed the 30km Brisbane Coastrek challenge with her team, Wonder Women. Together they raised over $3500 for charity.
Kate has since gone on to complete 2 more Coastrek achievements along the East Coast of Australia (plus 1 more coming up this year!) and her teams have raised a total of $12.5K for charity cumulatively. With a tenacity and bravery worthy of inspiring trekker status, Kate continues to trek with friends in Coastreks across Australia.
