Team Holy Walkamolies from Star Pharmacy Group are back on the trail, training for their third Coastrek challenge on the Fleurieu Peninsula - and for them, it’s about much more than the views. Coastrek has become a powerful blend of friendship, fitness, and fundraising, with the team united by a shared passion for mental health awareness.
“The physical challenge absolutely drives us,” says team member Scott, “but from our very first year, the connection to the cause is what got us involved—and what keeps us coming back.”
That cause -supporting mental health awareness and raising funds for Beyond Blue - has resonated more and more with the team over time. Each training session and event day has become not only a chance to push physical limits but also to create space for open conversations, shared stories, and genuine connection.
“Teamwork is critical in these challenges,” Scott adds. “We all play a role in getting each other across the finish line. That spirit of support brings us closer - not just as colleagues, but as friends.”
Walking the Talk
Having completed Mental Health First Aid training, team member Joy, understands the importance of mental health awareness – both in the workplace and across the community.
“Mental health affects everyone - whether it’s family, friends, workmates or ourselves,” Joy explains. “That’s why this cause is so important. We’re here to raise funds, raise awareness, and take care of our own wellbeing in the process.”
Star Pharmacy Group’s brand message - Happier and Healthier Every Day - is more than a slogan; it’s a cultural commitment. Mental health is a priority across the organisation, with initiatives that include regular mental health presentations, and Mental Health First Aid training for leaders and pharmacy managers. The Group has appointed a dedicated Wellbeing Officer and recently launched a Healthier Together Committee to further embed wellbeing into its workplace culture.
Training That Builds More Than Fitness
Led by team captain Jade, the team has been training together on weekend hikes across Adelaide. These sessions aren’t just about getting physically ready -they’re opportunities to bond, explore, and support one another.
“We’ve discovered some beautiful parts of Adelaide,” says Jade, “but what stands out the most is walking side by side with the team. It’s such a rewarding team-building experience - both personally and professionally.”
Just Keep Walking
With their hiking boots at the ready, a ‘just keep walking’ mindset and a strong sense of purpose, the Holy Walkamolies are ready to take on Coastrek once again—raising funds, fostering connection, and supporting the vital work of Beyond Blue.
