MARGARET RIVER 2023 ROUTE MAP

Starting only 30 minutes from Busselton or 3 hours from Perth, the Margaret River route takes you out of the hustle and bustle, with views of the Indian Ocean and the beautiful Geographe Bay surrounded by natures beauty. Whether you are visiting Margaret River for the day or making a weekend of it, trekkers will be treated to gorgeous scenery, abundant wildflowers, and epic headlands.

All our Coastrek routes are meticulously selected to give you the most epic adventure. Breathtaking views and natural landscapes are in, busy roads and concrete jungles are out!

We always put the coast in Coastrek, and our Margaret River location is famous for it. The Margaret River route includes all the best bits of this nature-lovers playground.

In 2023, you'll be walking from Yallingup (35km), following the Cape to Cape trail and the beautiful beaches along the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park. You’ll trek past Sugarloaf Rock, and then onto Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse (20km), the coastal tip of Cape Naturaliste.  You will continue past Point Marchant onto Bunker Bay Beach for some sand walking, trailing the coast to Eagle Bay Beach and along the lookout dotted coastline via Meelup Beach all the way to the finish line at Dunsborough Beach.

To access the Margaret River route map, download the route on your phone via Google Maps or the MAPS.ME app. Don't forget to update it just before Event Day to ensure you have the most up-to-date map. If you like it old school, we've got an epic hard copy map book that will include detailed track notes, elevation profiles and more.

Please note:  All Coastrek routes are subject to change. We attempt, at all times, to adhere to the advised route. As we are immersed in nature, however, there may sometimes be circumstances beyond our control (tides, fallen trees/branches, other safety aspects as advised by local councils) that require us to slightly alter the route. In any such cases these will be clearly marked and identified on event day.

If there is a government directive that disrupts your proposed Coastrek route on Event Day, you will get to choose your own route, based on your local area, with all the support and assistance you need. We will give you some inspiration by suggesting routes we know and love in your area.

It's not a race.

It's a challenge.
