Coastrek Gave Our Most Inspiring Team Purpose During Lockdown

Congratulations to Team Bravehearts, our Most Inspiring Coastrek team for 2020!

Melbourne Coastrekkers Melissa, Liz, Leanne and Karen from Team Bravehearts couldn't walk together as a team on Event Day, Friday 30th October, due to COVID-19 restrictions.

They may have been separated physically, but Team Bravehearts soldiered on and completed the 30km challenge – together, apart.

For Team Bravehearts, walking for mental health was especially significant. Sisters Melissa, Liz and Leanne sadly lost their brother to suicide, making Coastrek and fundraising for Beyond Blue deeply important for their team.

Team member Karen has also experienced her own struggles, contending with chronic pain and a lung condition, which she says has improved training for Coastrek.

With three out of four team members living in Victoria, they spent much of the year living under heavy restrictions. Coastrek gave them all a goal to work towards and a purpose during lockdown. They were motivated to keep training and fundraising. Together, they've raised over $3,600 for Beyond Blue.

Congratulations ladies! You’re awesome.

You’ve won our Coastrek prize pack, which includes 4 x Luxe CamelBaks, 4 x Dirty Girl Gaiters and 4 x $50 Paddy Pallin vouchers!
