Millie Walker: Coastrek Is An Absolute Vibe!

20 Jul 2023

Millie Walker has been involved in the health and fitness industry since 2003, running fitness franchises on beautiful beaches and developing corporate wellbeing programs for over 10 years.

Millie has taken part in Coastrek since the inaugural event on the Fleurieu Peninsula in 2018 alongside fellow Ambassador – and bestie – Georgina Mollinson, Millie recognises the importance of an active healthy lifestyle for physical and mental health, and each year she strives to get more people moving in nature. She says:

“Coastrek is an absolute vibe!  I always have the best time not only on event day but training for it as well.  It’s a wonderful opportunity to get together with a few of my besties, have a guilt-free girls’ weekend away, and do something for our wellbeing that also feels really good supporting a great cause, and crossing that finish line feeling like you’ve really achieved something.”

Millie has a long history with Wild Women on Top, starting as a trek training coach over a decade ago.  She took 17 women trekking in the Andes, and helped establish the first Coastrek in Australia, held in in Sydney in 2009.

Millie is a 4-time Australian Ironman finisher, has raced 6 x 100km ultra-marathons and in 2019 won the Kangaroo Island Triathlon. She has presented on The Morning Show, trained movie stars and taught yoga in Thailand, and now has a new passion for Stand-up-Paddleboarding on the coastline between Adelaide and Victor Harbor.

Having recently completed her teaching degree, Millie now teaches primary school children about the importance of health and fitness.

“As a teacher it’s really important to me that I inspire students to think about their health and fitness and set healthy routines from a young age.”
